Sandesh Jhingan Career
Sandesh Jhingan’s early football journey began in Chandigarh, where he trained at St. Stephen’s Academy. His talent quickly caught attention when he helped his academy team reach the South-East Asian finals of the Manchester United Premier Cup and represented the Chandigarh state team at the under-19 level, winning the B.C. Roy Trophy.
In November 2011, Jhingan attended trials at the I-League 2nd Division club United Sikkim and impressed enough to secure a contract the following month. Playing alongside experienced players like Bhaichung Bhutia and Renedy Singh, he played a key role in United Sikkim’s promotion to the I-League after the 2012 season.
Despite facing rejection from several clubs in Kolkata early in his career, Jhingan persevered and made his senior professional debut for United Sikkim in the I-League on October 6, 2012, scoring the winning goal in a 3–2 victory against Salgaocar.
