In fact, soon after the clip went viral, she clarified that the video was fake. Mathira, who became a sensation on social media, has claimed that she has been a victim of cyber bullying. On Saturday, November 23, Mathira shared a video on Instagram and said in the caption of her post that the leaked videos are generated by AI.
Mathira wrote, “Recently I have been a victim of cyber bullying and AI generated things. These things were not mine, but I was shamed and blamed. I was treated as if I am responsible for fake news and AI generated videos, which were not mine. I also have the forensic report as proof of this, but I cannot post it because Instagram removes legal documents.”
Mathira thanked her family and friends during this difficult time and said, “I don’t know what to say about this, but it has deeply hurt me and my loved ones. I am bold, but I know my limits. I am fed up of being trolled for things that are not mine.” Regarding the misuse of deepfakes and AI, she said, “If it is misused against someone, it can cause serious damage to their life and mental health. I consider myself lucky that I have a strong backbone. My family, my friends and my colleagues support me and know the truth.”
Earlier, Mathira had written in her reaction, “People are misusing my name and photoshoot pictures and adding fake things to it. Please be ashamed. Keep me away from this nonsense.”
